I was born the second of five children in the small town of Muncie, Indiana. My family did not understand the importance of proper nutrition beyond a glass of milk each day. Around the time of puberty, I began to experience debilitating migraines. These continued until I discovered macrobiotics at the age of 19, and realized that my headaches were connected to what I was eating.
I have since had three children of my own, the oldest of whom was born with Cerebral Palsy. My journey of seeking out healing solutions really came out of my need to help repair my son’s brain damage. My 28-year journey of being a mother to a son with so many physical needs led me from cranial doctors to therapy, acupuncturists, and diet changes. I ultimately began questioning the cause and effect of our actions and our intentions.
So what does this have to do with salt? I inherited the responsibility of changing the reputation of salt from the Celtic Sea Salt® founder, Jacques Delangre. I began by exploring his book, Sea Salt’s Hidden Powers. Along the way, I learned that his salt research was way ahead of its time.
